Make The Dream Real

July 15th, 2013

The golden rule toward bringing the dream forward:
. Allow yourself to dream of anything
. Capture these moments as scribbles, sketches, notes and discussions
. Once you’ve captured the dreams group them in an organized fashion in Evernote
. During your weekly review look upon these dreams for inspiration and time permitting (desired or calendar) create a series of steps to accomplish the first part of the dream
. Establish a schedule to track and target deliverables
. Feed the dream to keep it alive and on track
. Fill your day with support and allies to keep the dream moving forward
. Visualize and document what the dream materializing looks like in the world in order to give it more power and purpose
. Become obsessed with bringing this dream to life and keep your heart, mind and gut in the game to bring it forth
. Do the weekly review
. Pin up reminders of the dream around you so it’s always top of mind
. Get sleep
. Work out
. Entrain your mind

In the spirit of Duchamp

November 23rd, 2012

Meaningless verse vaporized within hypocratic oaths taken in secret and without valor. The world wishes and pushes in instances of certainty as if heard from within whispers of hysteria.

Her eyes became the shadows of the sun, her arms outstretched to become the horizon of the infinite. Behold on this night of splendor the wonder and joy manifesting within.

Do not fear the beast
Do not the angels
Do not fear the doubt
Do not fear the certainty
For they all manifest
Manifest from the same source
Identical and fluid only requiring focus to transform into the illuminable manifestation of being.

Still her heart
Still his mind
within the silence of the whisper.

Day 17 of flow

August 9th, 2012

Wow. 17 days since I started this whole process of developing a new habit and here I am, a little over 2 weeks into it and what I saw as 3 unique habits have merged into a single ├╝ber habit. Initially I wanted to develop my Conceptual Thinking, Drawing and Writing skills. Everything was going great and at around day 15 I had a breakthrough. My standard Lateral Thinking process of utilizing a trigger word to generate ideas was used to create a synopsis for a story which then in turn informed the comic strip process I was developing. Personally it was a huge mind opener for me. Anyway I could go on and on about all of this but I might be better served by just posting my results:

Day 14 of flow

August 6th, 2012

Making some great progress with this whole habit forming process. Again, I’m currently focused on developing my Conceptual Thinking, Drawing and Writing skills. I take about 30 minutes a day to perform these tasks, and this weekend I had a breakthrough. I’ve developed this little technique of drawing out comic panels on a single page and then filling in the panels with imagery. This weekend I decided to write some narrative bits to the side of the panels, and something magical happened. I have merged my writing and drawing to become a single process. This has been really exciting for me, because it is tapping into a richer field of automatic writing I am familiar with. It’s as if my writing and drawing have become one event. Anyway, I know the process isn’t new or revolutionary, but it is one that I haven’t really tried to develop. Here are some snapshots which lead up to the discovery:
